I often wonder how two extraordinary people like them could possibly have come out of the same small state small town high school.
Actually it is not that small. I graduated there 15 years after Dick did and there were 580 people in our graduating class (which means over 2000 people). Casper was then a city of over 45000 and there was only one high school in the county. During that time there were a lot of interesting characters in Casper as there were many oil speculators and those in the oil business were making big bucks. My Dad was actually Lynne Cheney's doctor for a short while. In fact he was also Red Skelton's wife's doctor for a while as she was also from Casper.
