One of the spent chemical shells actually used to bomb Halabja.

This wall memorializes 11 members of one family killed in the chemical weapons attack.

An American soldier at the cemetary of Halaja victims. Thank God for our tremendous men and women in the Armed Forces. Thank them and our brave President for ending the Hussein nightmare.

On the borders of Kurdistan
A Kurdish poem

On the borders
Where throats are
Choked with good-byes
And eagerness is
Suspended in the eyes
And people asked
When.. where are we ? why..?!

Here a child dies..
There a baby lies, and
Another face-down cries:

        My wound is hurting
        My breath is hurting
        My stomach is hurting,
Mother: Am I to die ?
        And my white pigeon ?!
Are we going to die ?

In tears she said:
There beyond the border posts..
Only days: we won't die
For us, God will try..

Again, the child cries:

        Will my pigeon die ?
        Mother: I love her..
        She is my life
        Because I love,
She does not deserve to die
        I love her...

All broke in tears

        Dear.. your pigeon died
        When the planes pried

And she broke in tears
My white pigeon was gassed ?!
        My Kurdish pigeon died

        Mother.. my hair is falling
        why ? Am I do die ?

        Some water please..
        W-a-t-e-r ...

Hi onyx. Well, I got through it. Shaking with rage at Clinton and the Dems and Hussein, and sorrow for what these images show. But we need to know because next year the Congressional Democrats are going to commit one of the most cynical, seditious, dishonest acts in American history. We need to brace ourselves for it with the truth.

Oh - congrats, onyx. My "first again" question was just teasing - I should have put a happy grin in there to be sure it wasn't mistaken.

Fabulous idea, Wolfstar.

Thanks, ilovew. BTW, on another thread this morning, some cretin was slamming Don Rumsfeld and President Reagan for helping Hussein in the 1980's. Got my dander up, so I responded very strongly to him. If your interested in my reply, go here.

Thanks, Wolfstar. That's the clearest, most compelling presentation of Halabja I've seen.

Good riddance.

We've been blessed to have a good man leading us.

I just checked the posting time. You, Howlin and ilovew are still a little too late from my second post. I was going to have my first post deleted.

Thank you for the hours I know you have spent composing this special Dose. I told someone last night, that Wolfstar would have a load of work for today's Dose and I now see I even misunderestimated the chore. It's a good thing posting the Dose is a labor of love.

Your reply concerning Hussein in the 1980's was well stated. Thanks for linking it.

God help those people...I hope they can heal now and remember how awful he was. That country will be a better place without that monster!

They have to overcome anger amongst the sects, but without Sadaam there to foment hatred, maybe that can happen. We must pray that it does.

You did a great job :) After I have my surgery, I'm going to get back into correcting those idiots. For now, I'm on break, though. Unless one of them happens to cross me.

It's a good thing posting the Dose is a labor of love.

In this particular case, it was a labor of defiance on my part: against tyrants like Hussein and against the Marxists in our own Congress who will use their newly acquired power to all but physically torture President Bush and many in his administration.
