I remember when I was little and my parents both voted for JFK. The rest of the family practically disowned them, there were loud arguments (over "cocktails")...and several of them didn't speak for a lllong time. Before she died my mom said JFK would be disowned by the current Democratic party!

The other thing she said OFTEN was.."well..he's the only dem I ever voted for"....LOL.

I wasn't old enough to vote for him (16), but he was responsible for my life-long obsession with politics. The night he was nominated seemed to go on forever and I was fascinated with how the nominating process and election were conducted.

My dem mother only voted against two Dems .. Carter and Clinton .. she hated them

Reagan she loved and if anyone spoke ill of "her Ronnie" she would rip them to shreds *L*
