Add the denominators and raise the sum over the product of the denominators, 1/3+1/4: 3+4=7; 3*4=12; move sum to top for 7/12. 1/2+1/3: 2+3=5; 2*3=6; 5/6 is the answer.

Yo Pro..

Try that one with 2/3 + 1/7

"Try that one with 2/3 + 1/7"

Looks like 17/21 to me...

I didn't say it worked in all cases; only when the numerator is 1 and there are only two fractions.

The invert rule? 2/3 becomes 3/2 or 1/7 becomes 7/1; 3x7=21; 2x7=14; 7x3=21; 7x2=14 or the answer is 14/21?

"Try that one with 2/3 + 1/7"

That would have to be 2*7 + 3 over 7 * 3 = 17/21.
