My smarter brother (yes, thank you, he is an PhD astronomer) often teases his other (school teacher)brothers with this simple question.

What group enters college with the lowest SAT scores but graduate with the highest GPA?

Ed. majors.

And that doesn't include HS teachers, who usually get a B.A. in their field. That's true at my university.
