Depth of character is not gained by educational degrees.
Gloria Vanderbilt is a lot more than a fasion designer.
I well remember the trauma surrounding her childhood. She was called the poor little rich girl.
The story of her life is nearly unbelievable.

Anderson is the daughter of Gloria Vanderbilt. To refer to her as a fashion designer is the height of understatement. To say the least!

I'm rejoicing over the end of an evil tyrant. We totally agree on that! Happy New Year to you, and may God (in whom you, as an American, are free to believe or disbelieve) bless and protect our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here is the translation of Saddam's last words (From Al Jaz):
A crude cell-phone video leaked less than 24 hours later goes much further -- showing bitter exchanges between Hussein and his Shiite guards.
After Hussein offers prayers, the guards shout praise for Muqtada al-Sadr, the radical Shiite cleric whose father is believed to have been murdered by Hussein's regime.
They chant, "Muqtada! Muqtada! Muqtada!"
Hussein smiles.
"Is this how you show your bravery as men?" he asks.
"Straight to hell," someone shouts back at him.
"Is this the bravery of Arabs?" Hussein asks.
A sole voice is heard trying to silence the taunts.
"Please, I am begging you not to," the unknown man says. "The man is being executed."
The taunts continued, and the trapdoor dropped shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday. Hussein was hanged.
Immediately after, Shiite witnesses danced around his body, chanting celebratory slogans.
This was translated from the Al Jazeera transcript. After we handed over Saddam to the Iraqis to carry out the sentence, we intentionally distanced ourselves from the execution.
I've seen lots of comments on the "unprofessionalism" on how this execution was carried out by the Iraqis. Considering how it could have been, I think it was very civilized. Please consider other executions of tyrants in world history.
Saddam wasn't dragged through the streets or had his dangling body put on display. Of course when compared to how executions are carried out in America, maybe it is somewhat barbaric. Luckily the double-standard which America suffers does not apply here in the Middle East.

I've seen lots of comments on the "unprofessionalism" on how this execution was carried out by the Iraqis. Considering how it could have been, I think it was very civilized. Please consider other executions of tyrants in world history. Ain't that the truth. Many of the armchair/drive by media types who wet their pants at the least shed of violence are only capable of seeing and understanding things through their own narrow perspective.
And they never give history any consideration.
Thanks, K!
