One advantage to having flour tortillas with your beans is that you can roll them up and scoop a bite of beans...also, I like to roll up some chopped green chili flavored with a little garlic salt up in the tortilla too. Haven't figured out how to do that with cornbread ;-)

FLOUR tortillas, for example, are a product of the 1930s Depression era commodities program. when the US government passed out 100# sacks of flour to the reservations, AI women made something to eat from them that was "true" to their culture. (note: my adopted elder daughter is a REAL Mexicana from Acapulco and she had NEVER seen a flour tortilla, when she came here to be with us!!! NOW she likes Tex-Mex!!!)
