Has there been given any official cause of death yet?

No other details, including the official cause of death, have been released.

Ford was the nation's oldest-living American president.

In the past year, he has experienced a number of health issues. Most recently, Ford underwent two heart procedures at the Mayo Clinic and received a pacemaker.

Wonder what has happened to Mz. Pelosi's coronation plans? Wasn't the four-day gala to start on Jan. 4?

I`m not familiar with eventual american tradition (I`m a norwegian living in Norway)when a former president dies - but I find it a little bit strange that no official cause of death not yet has been relased.Reagan was suffering from alzheimer, but died from pneumonia.

yea - I guess so too, but still wonder why it takes so long - with Reagan it was released within hours.

Ok - I guess you`re right. I guess I remember that there was breaking news that president Reagan was in his final stage battling pneumonia - I guess I mixed this late breaking news with the later official cause of death.

Yes, the media reported the cause of death to be pneumonia .. but his official cause of death would not have been released right away.

I'm a local, so our rag has a lot more detail than the networks regarding the mechanics of things.

If one wanted to pay respects, you'd board a shuttle bus about 5 miles away - after passing thru a security checkpoint.

No purses, no phones, no cameras, no water bottles....and it's estimated the wait could extend into hours.

The route of tomorrow's motorcade to the airport is being withheld, also due to security - so it's a crapshoot even if you wanted to stand someplace and hold a flag.

Ern, I hope you get a chance to do so. I would like to be standing along the route if I lived in that area. Maybe later tonight, there will be more info on it...

I was watching local news a little while ago and they showed film of President Ford's casket being carried into St. Margaret's Church, accompanied by the Marine and Navy honor guard, with the Marine Band playing "Hail to the Chief" in the background.

First Lady Betty Ford seems oh so sad with grief but holding up well to honor her husband. She has a military escort and her pastor will travel everywhere with her the next five days.

St. Margaret's is a very pretty church and I'm sure Gerry and Betty Ford cherished worshipping there, so a fitting place to remember him.
