Like a dutiful dancing partner, Senator Barack Obama has begun courting the evangelical right, and some are already waltzing along in perfect time.
With his attendance at Rick Warrens church, Saddleback Valley Community, a mega-church in California for a large conference about AIDS, Obama has begun to align himself with an important base of voters to gain what conservatives lost this last year. Already lauded by some prominent evangelical publications for his outstanding "Christian faith" and a person Rick Warren called a "good friend" and a someone he'd like to work with on important issues, Obama is in perfect position, if he can keep the momentum, to use an unusual strategy for political gain.
Obama has become well-known not only for his charisma and sudden rise to fame in the last few months, but for his outspoken Christian faith to which he refers regularly.

Syria
Prophet to 450 degrees. ;-)
Yes, he went. When he returned, he denied he shot any film while in Syria. See this and decide for yourself. The film shot in Syria is included in the 9 minute+ clip.

Now perhaps folks will understand why Rick Warren's embrace of Obama is so detrimental to life issues. Apparently, Warren lacks Chrisitan discernment.
Rick's new book "The Purpose Driven Profit".
Okay!
It is true, but so sad!

Yeah, Sam Brownback was there...I saw an interview with him, Warren, and Obama, I think on Fox News. For Brownback to be at a church was not a story, he has been a darling of the social conservatives...but Obama..THAT was a story.
Agreed he will crash and burn...after Hillary shoots him out of the sky. She is using Obama as a straw man, to keep money and publicity from flowing to Edwards and Gore, at least one of whom could give her a serious challenge in the primary.
Once this is safely a two-person race, Barrack will look like a porcupine with all the knives stuck in his back (and as a bonus, if Hillary paints him as a "religion of peace" sympathizer, she can make herself look almost tough on national security).
He is not winning this evangelical.
Hey! I already own that bridge...
Yep, you're absolutely right. I worked at a private university for many years and even most of the chaplains there were pretty left leaning. One of them insisted on joining our Bible Study at lunchtime to be sure we didn't teach any radical stuff. The Philosophy and Religion Department had a couple of good Christians but not many. And they're teaching Old and New Testament THEIR way. Sad. I was also peace studies secretary so I know of which I speak (smile).
I'd like to know who's running Warren. It is inconceivable to me that he has not been "groomed"; I'd like to know who "managed" this guy, to slipstream him into sudden position of "official" christian (note lower case) of the USA. Please note that he is currently sponsored by "Rupert Murdoch and the U.S. Defense Department" [emphasis added]
We live in very frightening times. We've got the "official", um, "minister of religion" preaching what amounts to "another" gospel -- one that features "world peace", once we all follow the rules. We have "a man for all seasons" -- half muslim/half christian -- ready to bring us ALL into "unity", kicking and screaming -- and a populace that is sufficiently hypnotized that IMO they will elect him to office.
God have mercy...

WHY was Barak HUSSEIN Obama invited there in the first place?
I'm just glad someone else sees it.
In a word, no.
Christians have been so thoroughly indoctrinated with "cheap grace" that they vote, en masse for the likes of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. No great leap to vote for "such a swell guy" as B. Hussein Obama.
Unless the GOP rents a clue -- and puts its standard primogeniture program on hold for a cycle -- Hussein IS going to be the next president.
BTW, I'm not expecting that to happen. Just as they could not stop themselves from pitting Bob "viagra" Dole against Bill Clinton (talk about throwing meat to the lions!), they won't break out of the mould this time either.
You may not like it, I certainly don't like it, but I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and pretend -- or even "hope" -- for something that just ain't gonna happen.
Fasten your seatbelts, and settle in for the long haul, it's gonna be a real nasty ride from here on out, starting with the new legislature, already celebrated by the current president because it's going to let him have his illegal alien amnesty. It's all downhill from there...
What a sad, frightening world we're passing on to our children.
The left is doing today to the church what it did yesterday to the state -- quietly infiltrate, and then, change from within.
It's too late to do anything about it. By the time the symptoms appear, it's already past the point of no return.
In the land of the blind, the one-eye'd man will generally get his eye poked out (right before he's burned at the stake).
"Troublemakers" are NOT tolerated -- especially when they oppose "the man of 'peace', in these troubled times of ours."
I could swear I read this stuff in a book some time. The plot is so familiar...
