More accustomed to seeing the state after a congressman's name. City seems to come after state reps names.
Long Islanders will sit you down and tell you they want to secede from NY State. And they're about as vocal about it as people from South Jersey...at least that's the way it was 20 years ago when I lived in the area.
NYC newspaper - NYC readers want to see if a Congresman is from the city or the 'burbs or whether he's from some unimaginably far away place like Herkimer County or Plattsburgh.
