Besides opposing the consumption of alcohol in bars, Carrie Nation also objected to the portraits of nude women that sometimes hung in them. She is reported to have said to one bar proprietor concerning such a picture: "Young man, you cover up that nasty thing or there's going to be a little hachetation around here."
You really are dense.
I have been talking about the tactics of Carry Nation, not the legitimacy of the Constitutional Amendment.
Her followers today have no need to go through the appropriate channels for a constitutional amendment, do they? And no I am not speaking strictly of alcohol, and neither was she, that just happened to be the only target of the Amendment.
not really, there is no indication she used her hatchet on every dog she found on the property.
Legitimately as well, just as much as it could be reinstated in the same fashion. And I would vote for it either as a member of Congress or a state legislator.
If you have a problem with the legitimate Constitutional process, it is you that is the tyrant, not me.
But that is not really your issue, is it? Your only purpose is to be an in your face, wannabe tough guy.
The tactics of the Boston Tea Party were exactly the same...
Yup, you're dense.
No, you just have a polemic need to be a jerk...
I hate to disavow you of your fantasy, but I only see one jerk on this thread, and the person is not appearing in my mirror.
The mentality of Carry Nation is alive and well, but they don't need the legitimacy of the Amendment process to do more harm to society than she and her crowd of hatchet weilders ever did or thought to do.
Looking over your posts, you seem to have this absolute fascination with male colons and homosexuals.
If you are truly gay, everyone here will understand you know.
LOL, there you go again. My deepest sympathies for this anal fixation you seem to have acquired.
Seek help if it gets to be too much. Or, if you enjoy it, who am I to tell you to not do so.
Cheers!
"Whoa Nelly!"
Thanks for the ping!
Her movement is not dead. MADD is now a full fledged prohibitionist organization.
You don't think alcohol should be legal?
