It's been 40 years and I think most of us are still waiting for the "collective work & responsibility," "cooperative economics,", "purpose", "unity", and "self-determination" principles of Kwanzaa to kick in the other 358 days of the year.
Of course, if they did some lib Dem pols would be looking for real work themselves.
Thus begins the journey into adolescence of a Kwanzaa-celebrating black girl.
LOL! The DemocRATS and their toadies in the MSM have done a great job dividing us into little quarreling tribes.
""It was held at a library. It seems a library could hardly be that big. I bet the MSM counted the MSM. ""
Is this a PUBLIC library? Did they allow Christmas celebrations? Christmas decorations?
In the entire article, there is the mention of only one male participant. Everyone else (performer, organizer, attendee) is female. I'd be willing to bet this "family event" was almost exclusively women and their children/grandchildren.
I think it's great that they have their own national anthem. If they want their own schools and water fountains, I think we could accomodate them...
They might as well celebrate MLK Day by spitting on the guy's grave.
I don't want to say anything to denigrate black culture or anything like that.
But Kwanzaa is not a traditional African festival of any kind. As others have said, it was invented by a Marxist who wanted a black alternative to Christmas. It might be hard to argue with the pillars of Kwanzaa, i.e. unity, self determination, etc. But as others have noted, these principles have not helped the black community the rest of the year.
According to the "Calypso Louis Million Man Math," the actual attendance was probably around 50.
"If they want their own schools and water fountains, I think we could accomodate them."
Ever since segregation ended, it seems a number of blacks have been trying to go back, doesn't it? Who practices "separate but equal" now?
That is a very good question! I would be interested to find out. Not that I will do the research but it would be an interesting pot to stir!
>"``Our children need to understand and to learn about their heritage. We, the parents, must take the responsibility to continue educating our children and our community of who we are, where we are from and why we are here.''
White folks in the south try this and the Confederate flag is removed from prominent places and we are called racist. Does the "Black National Anthem" have any lyrics btw?
Yep. They're the lyrics to "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing." Same melody, too. In fact, they are one and the same song. It was appropriated as the "Black National Anthem," despite its being written over 100 years ago as a tribute to Abraham Lincoln.
Let them read this and then let's hear the song:

Face it, the only people who care about Kwanzaa are white people. Hence, this thread.
"Kwanzaa, an African-American holiday that celebrates family, community and culture, "
First lie is right there. It is a marxist, anti-white separatist fiction.
I'm a white Kwanzaa celebrator. My two favorite days are coming up, "Collective work and responsibility" day and "Cooperative Economics" day, othwerise known as the "Two days of Parasitism".
