I was a young teen when GF was elected VP so I can't say I really knew much about his political views. But he seemed like a kind caring sort of man in his later years.

Yeah, and the media was nasty to him too. They made out he was a clutz tripping and falling over everything. When something like that happens, it seem to make you do it all the more.

He was a quiet, good man but the country punished him for pardoning Nixon. He did the right thing.
