Many people don't know this, but Truman actually died on 12/25, not 12/26. The family did not want to interrupt the Christmas of the troops from Ft. Riley who were to handle the funeral arrangements. As it was, the soldiers were restricted to being less than an hour away from the base. The family decided to announce his death at 8AM on 12/26. He died at Research Hospital in KC.
