Hmmm. Will there still be a "Pelosi Coronation"?
The country will be in official mourning, not to mention there may be a state funeral almost simultaneous with the swearing in of the new congress. How fittin' would that be?!

Rest In Peace President Ford.
All but one of the CIC's I served under have passed away; Nixon, Ford, and Reagan have passed. Only ......Carter survives.

Ford was an accidental presidentI believe the Constitution says otherwise. One does not ascend to the Presidency by accident.
But you're right about the pathetic AP source - I'm proud to say that he was the first President I shook hands with at a campaign stop at Detroit Metro airport and the first President I was old enough to vote for, seems like yesterday.
He will be missed.

Specter was not a full-fledged member, but a staff attorney for the Commission.

"Arlen Specter's still alive."
That's debatable.

It's true, that sweet little old lady will mow people down to get to him. :)

" The rest of the world may or may not follow, but We lead because the whole course of our History says that We must." That is a great quote- obviously GWB learned a lot from this kind servant to our great country. Thank you for posting.

Without a doubt, one of the things I regret most in my life is I did not vote for Gerald Ford for President in 1976. I honestly expect to have to answer for that at my Judgment. I pray that President Ford will find it in his heart to forgive me and put in a good word on my behalf.
Rest peacefully at the feet of our Lord Jesus, President Ford, thou good and faithful servant to the people of the United States. My sincere condolences to his family.
