Hillary's New Strategy: The Mom President
FOX ^ | Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

Posted on 12/25/2006 10:11:17 PM PST by Coleus

“We’ve never had a mother who ever ran or was elected president…”

That was Hillary Clinton speaking earlier this week, when she appeared on the television show The View. Don’t think for a minute that she was just making an interesting historical observation. No, Hillary doesn’t work that way. She never says or does anything that hasn’t been perfectly scripted and endlessly polled beforehand. She had a message, a new strategy to try out. So look for the new “Mom Strategy” to be the anchor of her presidential run.

Forget Soccer Moms and Security Moms; now it’s going to be all Moms all the time — with Hillary as the biggest Mom of all.

The “Mom Strategy” is key to presenting the latest iteration of Hillary. She needs to move out of the center space that she populated in her last reincarnation as a moderate. That’s over. Because democratic primary voters are squarely at odds with her positions on the war in Iraq, she needs to move on. The “Mom Strategy” gives her a credible way to tack to the left on the war. She’s already begun. Last week, she told an NPR audience that she would have voted against the war if only she had known then what she knows now. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

In furtherance of the new Mom strategy, she has re-released her best-selling book It Takes A Village. This time, she is pictured surrounded by adoring, well-groomed and respectful children on the cover. Just like Mom. This is no coincidence; it’s an element of the strategy. The subliminal message: I’m a Mom and I’m running for president. Moms take care of people, they’re compassionate and don’t want wars. The fact that the book isn’t selling well in its re-release

“We’ve never had a mother who ever ran or was elected president…”

We've never had an anti-mother, anti-woman, anti-truth, anti-freedom sociopath parading around in a pink pantsuit pretending to be presidential material, signing autographed copies of "It Takes an Enabler" or "Omitting History".

Run Hillary Run!

"Is this going to launch us into the whole "gay parents" issue again?"

- No, no. Hitlery just saw that the "grandmother" shtick seemed to work for Pelosi so, being the smartest woman in the world, thought that she would throw the mummy strategy out there and see if it would fly for her as well.
If we see her going on tour with Chelsea in tow, we'll know that the strategy tested well in the focus groups.

Technically, Carol Mostly Fraud didn't run (anyway, she was a waddler).

You are right. Thanks for the correction.

I would be curious to know how many nanny's she employed

She probably didnt employ any. I would bet they were employed by the state of Arkansas. Why should Hillary pay when the taxpayers will pick it up.

I like where your head is at but remember that Bill Clinton's own parentage was somewhat open to question in terms of legitimacy.

Emmett Tyrrell alluded to this in his book, "The Impeachment of William Clinton."

Thanks to the MSM, this will get no traction.

Hillary is more like the "Crazed Cheerleader Mom", IMHO

I knew the "cheerleaader mother" and she is a much nicer person than Hillary, who I'm sure has put out more "hit contracts."

We don't need a mother in 2008, we need a President. I guess it is just her attempt at reeling in the Oprah yuppie type women. Geez, she had one kid who was most likely raised by others.

-snip-(Actually, she’s not. While Elizabeth Dole — who ran in 2000 — has no children, another woman, who had two children, ran for president in 1872. Victoria Woodhull, an early suffragette — and mistress of Cornelius Vanderbilt — ran as the candidate of the Equal Rights Party).-snip-

Her little trolls probably quit fact-checking when they figured out that Shirley Chisolm didn't have any children.

If she's going to try the mommy thing, may I suggest a campaign song?

From Pink Floyd's Mother....

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
Momma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Momma won't let anyone dirty get through
Momma's gonna wait up until you get in
Momma will always find out where you've been
Momma's gonna keep Baby healthy and clean
Oooo Babe
Oooo Babe
Ooo Babe, you'll always be Baby to me

Didn't she pen some article back in the '80s talking about how children should be able to divorce their parents? She was on the board of the Children's Defense League, or something like that. Obviously, she doesn't care for the institution of the family.

I'll have to dig out the old Hillary expose books and do some background research.

If she has her way she will be the biggest "smother mother" ever. We will know what is is to have our privacy invaded. This is her strong suit. She will come up with all kinds of programs masked as "for the good of the public" in order to have access to as much personal info on all people that she can get her hands on. The NSA thing will look like a joke!
