Exactly- Most everything in the Koran goes directly against the constitution of this country- Ellison is in OUR country NOT his- He abides by the wishes of OUR citizens- NOT the Muslim comunity! If He can't stand before OUR God and swear an oath or affirmation & be bound by our God's oat- then he has NO business serving! Ellison does NOT have to beleive in our God- but he best believe WE take our God and oaths to Him VERY seriously!!! Hopefully Goode will tell estrich to take a flying leap!!! http://sacredscoop.com

The Constitution specifies there be no religious test for public office.

The clause was written for the purpose of allowing Quakers, who do not swear, to serve in government. Jews also take advantage of it, as do Unitarians, members of various dissenter groups, Orthodox Christians, atheists, Moslems, Buddhists, Hindus and so forth.

The history of the clause is imbedded in the concepts adopted in the Treaty of Westphalia.
