Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has tapped a Republican aide to President Bush's 2004 re-election campaign in Ohio to serve as his new press secretary.
Aaron McLear, 29, will take over press duties starting next month. He replaces Margita Thompson, who departed last week to work for HealthNet, a Woodland Hills-based health maintenance organization.
McLear, an Ohio native, served as communications director for Bush's 2004 campaign in the crucial Midwest swing state. He currently works for the Republican National Committee as a regional press secretary for the Northeast.
The Republican governor has shown an affinity for hiring former Bush aides this year. Former Bush campaign strategist Steve Schmidt was Schwarzenegger's campaign manager, while former White House officials Katie Levinson and Matt David led the governor's campaign communications team.

Steve Schmidt (Arnold's campaign mgr and the Prop-90 Judas) and Matthew Dowd were both from Bush's camp. That alone doesn't help McLear much. Also, he got his training working for the ethically challenged Bob Taft before moving to the RNC.
Why of course! A fractured femur!!! (what else?)
he's a wildcard- never know how he's going to vote- http://sacredscoop.com
No. This position is entirely unrelated to policy. The liberal Democrat Governor posing as a Republican and his liberal Democrat chief of staff, and his liberal Democrat wife will decide policy. The press people will be responsible for spinning whatever the liberal Democrats tell him to spin.
That's a bone we can all choke on.
Dem bones, dem bones, dem DRY bones... Dem bones, dem bones, dem DRY bones...
Or is he throwing bones at us?
