Funny but none of the soldiers I have met and I meet plenty when I have to go on PGR rides say anything like this. They want to go back and they feel they are doing a good job in Iraq.....I meet ones who are called home to bury their own brothers and don't even have to go back , yet they all have told me thats what their plan is. To go back and finish their mission. To go back so that the terrorists never come here . So I think this story is just plain nonsense.

It doesn't please me to say this, but I do wonder if the man hasn't been compromised.

He may be in the wrong line of work.

These guys "get it". The blood on the street in Iraq is not a good thing but these young men want to stop it over there and not have to fight these same battles on main street USA.

Very few of us never want to go back. We know what is at stake and the more we kill there the fewer will make it here to wreak their hatred bred dissedence on our families. I find it hilarious that the soldiers, sailors, or marines who don't want to go back usually ETS after their initial tour so it really doesn't matter what they want.

PGR rides, eh?

To bury phonies? http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies285.htm

Or led by phonies? http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies263.htm

...and... http://macvsog.cc/dolan_robert_edward.htm

(Don't get me wrong. I welcome anyone that wants to support the troops and the flag, and if you're against Fred Phelps, well, like Churchill, I will at the very least make a favourable reference to you in public. But the PGR has a rather severe wannabee problem. (Why do these guys do this? Sure, the other guy was a dirtbag jailbird failure, but Dolan seems to have served honourably, just wasn't SF or SEAL or SOG or any of his outlandish claims... what's wrong with the guy that he can't be proud of what he really did do... guys depended on him, whatever it was.

When legit vets resigned from the PGR over Dolan, the people at the home office slimed them (it's deep in the POW network thread). I was disappointed to read that.

I'll cut the major some slack; he may simply be an honest observer of the Iraqi culture. Out of a multitude of opinions and options we will get the best answer. I have worked on a lot of teams, both in the military and in civilian life. Often there were vehement arguments and tempers flared. The same thing goes in EVERY WAR. Every war starts with a clusterf**k and tactics are refined over time. I expect the war against islamofascists to last at least as long as the last war against bolsheviks. Come to think of it, those pesky boshies are still giving us trouble.

MY wife met a mother of a 19 year soldier who was injuied numerous times in Iraq qnd wants to go back but recently was injured in a training exercise here in the States. Mom cries easily, before hearing her story I had told her to Thank her son for his Service to his Country.
If I see her again,I will give her a big hug, which she truly deserves!!!!
