The kids from prior marriages are probably not too happy to see their inheritance disappear in this way.

Which is what pre-nuptuals are for. Assuming that the groom is interested in leaving his estate to his children, rather than whoever did the most to make his last years reasonably happy

What's interesting is when the Old Romeo wants his older children (the ones from the wife of his youth) to look after the "do-overs" from the youthful bride of his foolishness...you'd be surprised. And Old Romeos are seldom provident.
