I am working on p_2125_lambda_5way_melt. It takes about a week to finish. Those are more common now than a pimple on a fat lady's butt!

Lately most of my WUs have been 20K frame units, with some up to 50K. Today the new one is 25 frames. HmmmYou're obviously not eating your spinach!

A few months back I had tried and tried but was unable to get this program to work on my Windows XP computer. So, just recently I installed version 4.0, which is recommended for Windows 98 computers, and that one works fine for me. That is something you could possibly suggest to others if they are having problems getting the program to work.

Just a little background on xstremesystems ...
Know how we sometimes have little flame wars? Most of these new members are from the Rosetta project where xstremesystenms was the No 1 team. Well, there was a suspicion of some ... underhanded ways to jack up the point totals. One or more forums became pure flame wars and really teed the XS members off at Rosetta.
The management at Rosetta was NOT at fault for the flame war, IMHO, but did nothing to quell the ruckus. Looks like they need some serious hard nosed Admin Moderator boot camps over there.
Well, most of the members are dropping a couple of years of distributed computing over there and are moving to F@H and the World Computing Grid, starting over from scratch. So we have some legitimate competition until Klutz gets back in the house.
BTW, most of their large point gainers are running several overclocked systems, and many are getting the ATI X1950 XTX and SMP just to see how many points a single box can get in a day. Both SMP and GPU systems can rack up 500 -700 ppd, per system.
Maybe we should introduce the Viking kitties over to Rosetta ...

Thats surprising the F@H 5.03 GUI or the 5.04 console wouldn't work. We normally can get these programs to operate quietly in the background with very few problems.
If you found a way to get F@H to work, great! We do appreciate your persistance.
Welcome to the team, and again, Merry Christmas!

Doing a little checking on xstremesystems, seems they and another team (Phoenix Rising) had a challenge to be the first to 10.5mm points. There was a drive at xstremesystems for some team members to move their systems off WCG, and onto FAH, until 12/26. That may account for their big push lately. They had been averaging 400,000 to 800,000 PPM until December. This month is 1,470,000 pts.
Hopefully, now that this "challenge" is over, their members will slowly migrate back to WCG, and slow their progress down.
Right now, they have 99 active, and 180 inactive, and are averaging 86,000 PPD, so this bears watching over the next couple weeks.

How can you tell how many points you will be awarded for a WU?
I have a WU now that will not be done until April for crying out loud.
Thanks
