"The state has recovered only a small portion of the licenses, authorities have said." Now that she has been convicted, they should get cracking on cleaning this up. Those with fraudulent licenses need to be rounded up and deported for having broken our laws.

"Oh my God! Oh my God, my children, my children."

Do you think she meant her kids, or her clients?

"I don't know how you would believe anything said by any of them beyond a reasonable doubt," Serafinowicz said.

That's not the standard. Any particular witness does not need to be believed beyond a reasonable doubt, only your client's guilt.

Sounds like she's a good candidate for a pardon. Didn't Bush just hand a bunch of them out?

She took her chances and went to trial, the others pled guilty and received 7 years. My impression is that she might have been relying on her motherhood for an out.

The moral of the story, is NEVER take a short cut in life. Don't ever put your self in a position where someone else can control your life.

Note the tone of the author is this article. Hardly fair and balanced.

I hate to see a mother with children go to jail, but thanks to her, 2500 illegals now have jobs, apartments and a foot in the door. Aye caramba!

Look on the bright side: She'll only be 364 when she gets out.

Woman faces up to 330 years.

Now that would send shock waves thru all the state's DMV's.

She's worried about her children?!! She should have thought about that before she broke the law!

Upto 330 years? Isn't that excessive? Sandy Burglar got a slap on the wrist.

This is a great beginning.

After she goes to prison, civil lawsuits can filed against her for damages done by the illegal aliens with the illegal licenses.

So, she's shocked because she got convicted for doing something illegal. My heart just doesn't bleed for her...or her 4 or 5 kids. She should have thought about her 4 or 5 kids before she broke the law....but that would be logical right?

Just an observation. "4 or 5 kids" how does someone not know how many kids she has and that includes her lawyer who's been on this case for years.

330 years is the maximum if all were served to completion. Sersational headline with no real base in reality. She'll probably get 10-15. She should have taken the plea bargain. She rolled the crap-dice of life and crapped out. She cost the taxpayers extra for the trial and should be punished.

Personally she should get 20-life if I was the judge.

Her lawyer said she has "four or five" children and was in process of adopting another.

Why didn't she think of her kids before she decided to ruin their future, as well as hers?

While I know little about adoption, I would think that most courts and adoption agencies wouyld take a dim view of being charged with felony offences.

The case was broken in 2004 and her lawyer still thinks she *may* be allowed to adopt? Grab a hanky ambulance chaser. Maybe work on this case probono so the lady can afford the bail.
