True, but you're still causing our taxes to rise. Ten years ago our property taxes equalled 2 WEEKS of pay. Today, it's 2 MONTHS for the same house and same job. We don't have the $$$ and are going to have to do some fast scrambling to get the taxes paid this year. We've always had illegals but the change is this new influx of northerners.

Not really. Looks more like your city planners are not up to their jobs. Taxes SHOULD be paid for equally. When new peeps move in, the property taxes THEY pay should cover costs. The few exceptions being for new schools and other MAJOR expendatures. Heck, even increased police / firemen labor costs should be covered by the "newcomers" property tax. Sounds like you need to keep a closer eye on local pork spending to me.
Property taxes skyrocked in Nevada, too, with the huge influx and the need for more and more schools, roads, police, fire, etc.
