Idealistically, I agree with you. However, from a realistic perspective, Bush doesn't listen to either the people or his own party representatives (now cooling their heels at home after being voted out!!).

I realized a long time ago that it's much more than a "hint." Bush is the biggest advocate, promoter and enabler of the illegal alien problem. Even a year ago, many here thought he was just ignoring the problem. He's taken many proactive steps to insure that the border remains open and, in fact, wants the practice legalized.
