Bush pardons 16, commutes sentence in drug case

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush issued 16 pardons Thursday and commuted the sentence of an Iowa man convicted of drug charges.

Six of the federal offenses were drug crimes, while others included bank fraud, mail fraud, the acceptance of a kickback, a false statement on a loan application and conspiracy to defraud the government over taxes.

Seven of the 16 received no prison or jail time, instead getting probation or a reduction in their military pensions.

The longest sentence was nine years, for aiding cocaine distribution, followed by a six-year term for conspiracy to possess marijuana.

With this batch, Bush has issued 113 pardons and commuted three sentences in his nearly six years in the White House, according to spokesman Tony Fratto.

A pardon amounts to federal forgiveness for one's crime, while a commutation cuts short an existing prison term.

Looks like Bush is smoking something unhealthy...

Maybe that is why he pardoned the drug dealers.

When he pardoned him was that an admittance that Weinberger was guilty?

These Border Patrolmen petitioned the President for pardons, but the President pardons drug dealers instead. Go figure.

Give him another yr & his new adopted brother, Bubba, can make the pardons. There is really isn't much difference in this corrupt "Two-Party-Cartel". Keep voting in it & give these shills some relevance. Yeah, boost their distorted egos.

Border patrol? Go to jail for doing your job.

Why should the Border Patrol be any better than the Marines?

As has become all too painfully apparent, Bush's priorities are waaaaay out of whack. Just when I think he can't get any worse, he does.

Yes, I do. When the OJ verdict came down my teenage son asked me what to think. All I coud say was that I had not been on the jury and had not heard all the evidence. Has it been overturned on appeal? Then suck it up;!

The White House has already issued a statement to Dana Rohrbacher that there is no pardon coming for the agents.

"Where are the BushBots on this?

They're all on the 'Bush is the second coming thread'. re: A day in the life of President Bush."

Those threads are just plain creepy. They remind me of a stalker's bedroom shrine dedicated to the object of his or her desire. I can imagine candles lit all around the posters' monitor as they lovingly peruse the thread and post pictures.

Speaking to the topic at hand, I can't quite get my mind around the raging injustice of it all. It angers me to no end, but it is an impotent anger as Bush has already made it clear that he intends to let these two fellows rot in prison for the next two decades.

Oh...but he's the perfect man for the WoT we're constantly being told by his thralls—nevermind that he seems to be doing his damnedest to wreck this country from the inside, as he and his globalist buddies turn it into something other than the sovereign United States so many have fought and died for. The man sickens me.

LOL. Or the "Please Pray for President Bush" thread where it's mostly "Please Heap Praises on Caesar... I mean the President and Call it prayer" thread.

The border patrolmen may not have been convicted if they had not tried to cover up the shooting incident. Why does a person try and cover something up? Maybe because they thought they did something wrong.

OK, I'm really pissed. I voted for this phony TWICE. DAMNIT! He's no better than any other globalistic wannabes, except that he's got the G*d Damn reigns at the moment. Are we going to just bend over and grab our ankles for this sh*t? This is killin' me...

Yes, I believe you are right. You have to be convicted first.

They're all on the 'Bush is the second coming thread'.

That would be funny if it weren't so true.

He's literally a little god to many of them. And many of those who profess to be Christians cannot comprehend devotion to Christ on one hand and opposition to Bush's policies on the other.

It's as if you are committing blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I was told I was unsaved and going to hell by the Bushbot cheerleading section of FR.

When one of the OBL hypocrites called me a fake on FR, nothing happened. When I responded by showing proof that this person had claimed to be something on FR he wasn't, my comments were pulled and I was suspended for two days.

They were then allowed to post lies and innuendo about me on that same thread writing that my posts were pulled because of blasphemies. It's pretty funny because a couple of them accusing me of this are liberal RINO pro-aborts (one of them brags openly about their own abortion). Not one post of theirs was ever pulled yet I was reprimanded for trolling.

When they post their idiocy to me now, I just ignore them or send them a big fat :-) I wouldn't doubt it if many of them don't out themselves right here on this thread.

Yes, I would like some cheese with that whine. LOL.

I agree with you that those people deserve what they get for the next 2 years or more. We don't deserve it though.
