Did you hear that the lady they left up in ISS cut off her ponytail and is sending it back with the shuttle? Sunita Williams. She donates her hair to Locks of Love.

2 hours from White Sands. Only one landing before. Columbia in 82. I was in 7th grade at the time. Seem to recall that it caused a lot of problems. The runway is gypsum and the dust caused alot of damage.

It's a trial whenever the shuttle lands at alternative sites:
but it is really neat to see it come in and land some place that does not look like there is a Fed Ex terminal just outside the picture.
