It's a slow news day, so here's a transcript of the ongoing feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell, when Trump phoned in to Fox's Cavuto show today. Rosie's response on The View earlier today to Trump's calling her fat and unattractive yesterday was to say nothing and just make a face at the camera. The Fox host asked Trump for his reaction:
Trump: Well, it's typical of a bully. Rosie is a bully. SHe's bullied people for years. She hasn't been bery successful. Her magazine failed, her television show - the ratings were so bad they took her off the air. Rosie is a bully and I hit her between the eyes. She said lots of false things. For instance, that the Miss USA wasn't as big as the Miss America. Miss USA pageant is actually on network television, NBC. It's getting fantastic ratings, it's getting great ratings, as does Miss Universe. The Miss America pageant, as you know David [host substituting for Neil Cavuto], was relegated to cable, and Rosie's talking about how great the Miss America pageant - that that's the granddaddy, that that's the important one - well, she knows that's not true. But she also knows that I own the one so she wants to put it down. She said that Donald Trump went bankrupt. Now, you know better than anybody - you're informed - on the cover of your magazine a month ago, the Forbes 400 as being a very rich guy.Host: Personally - let's just straighten that out clearly here. You personally never went bankrupt.
Trump: I never went bankrupt.
Host: Well, where did all this come from ...
Trump: Excuse me David, she not only said I went bankrupt, she said I went bankrupt many times, bahbahbah, my father bailed me out ... my father was my greatest friend. My father was a Brooklyn builder, my father doesn't bail people out for billions of dollars etcetera. I never went bankrupt. All of your folks at Forbes will tell you that. They would love it if I would because it would make a rat story, but I never went bankrupt, it's just one of those things. But not only that, I'm on the cover of your magazine [Forbes] last month, the Forbes 400, and frankly you have me down at 2.9 billion, I've said it's much higher than that, but it's irrelevant, it's still a lot of money. Rosie is dishonest. Rosie doesn't play the game fair. Rosie is a bully. I hit her between the eyes. She's worried about being sued, which she probably will be, but she's worried about being sued, and her response today was nothing.
Host: You think she was told by her lawyer to keep her mouth shut?
Trump: Well, you can't say somebody went bankrupt many times, and somebody's father bailed him out - all untrue - and then expect not to be sued, or expect to do very well. I can tell you The View - which hasn't done very well - is a show that is very disappointed in me, because they always want me on The View - fortunately I get ratings - and they want me on The View - it's not a show that I'll be doing any more. It's not a vey good show, and they put Rosie on and I say she'll end up killing the show, because everything she touches turns to garbage.
Host: [says that a Fox News Business Poll found 83% agree with Trump that Rosie will bring down ratings]
Trump: Well I think she'll definitely bring them down, David. I mean, she's not a very smart person. If you look at her IQ, I guarantee you - you know, in all fairness, I was a good student at the Wharton School of Finance, I'm like a smart guy, maybe not as smart as you, David - Rosie, if you look at her IQ, I guarantee you it's not way up there.
Host: [notes that Trump is attacking her personally]
Trump: David, she did something with my hair - not that I mind, I mean obviously the hair is the butt of the jokes, I don't know why it's so bad. It's my hair, it's legitimately my hair. - she mocked my hair, she mocked the voice - and you know what this is all about, this is all about the fact that I gave a very wonderful young woman who has a problem a second chance. Rosie would have preferred that I fire her. I'm sure Rosie gives women lots of chances whenever she can. But Rosie woudl have preferred that I fire this woman, and what I said, I said I'm not going to fire her right before Christmas. I'm not going to destroy somebody's life. I'm going to send her away, we're going to work with her, were going to try to straighten her out, and I think we'll be successful and she'll be a great role model in a different way than we had anticipated. But Rosie wanted us to fire this young woman. Not very nice.
Host: [asks Trump if there was some history between him and O'Donnell prior to this]
Trump: Rosie's always knoown that I'm not a big fan of hers. I saw her at the theater not so long ago, and I said, "Congratulations on the failing of your magazine." I didn't like what she did. She was sued by the magazine, there were suits going ... she dropped like an open umbrella. She was not able to handle the pressure whatsoever. And if you looked at her on The View today, she's stumbling, she's fumbling, she was not the same Rosie that she was yesterday when she was full of vim and vigor. She was a stumbling buffoon today on The View. The only thing she did, she introduced her lovely girlfriend and that was it, and she probably needed her girlfriend for some strength. When her friend leaves her, it's going to be awfully hard for Rosie to find a new one, believe me.
[snip - I'm running out of time, so I'm skipping part of the interview]
Trump: I guarantee you, if I weren't married, I don't think I'd have a very hard time stealing her, so I'd have to use friends. What she did with Kelly Ripa, what she did with other people, she's a bully, but nobody ever hit back. I hit back, I mean that's just my life. She's a despicable person.
Trump continues on for a while in this vein, slamming The View's ratings and quality and Rosie herself.
I agree.
You owe a bank $50,000 and they OWN you
You owe a bank 50 million and YOU own them.
Not just a raccoon, but a ferret too!
Rosie has always exhibited a hostility towards heterosexual males. She is a bigoted heterophobe. She probably does not like heterosexual females.
Same stylist as Jim Traficant.
She is kinda right....he pulled some legal shenanigans and screwed ALOT of people who did work for him out of millions of dollars.
But, at least Jimbo was a good QB. I remember him well.
United States Representative James A. Traficant, Jr. was born May 8, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was educated in the Youngstown parochial school system where his athletic ability earned him a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. Following graduation from Pitt in 1963, where he enjoyed remarkable success as both a quarterback on the Panther football team and a student in the Department of Education.
