WASHINGTON - A federal judge strongly admonished an attorney for former ambassador Joseph Wilson for her appearance yesterday on MSNBC's program "Hardball" where she predicted a jury can find I Lewis "Scooter" Libby guilty of making false statements. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton writes in an opinion today, "the Court would not tolerate this case being tried in the media." Melanie Sloan, who is representing Wilson and his wife Valerie Plame in a civil suit against Libby, was asked by Chris Matthews if she thought Libby could still found guilty of perjury and obstruction charges - in the upcoming CIA/Leak trial - even though he may not have been the first person to reveal Palme's name.

This whole thing should have been over Months ago.
Fitzgerald should be in jail for carrying out this fraud and stealing government funds.
Sloan has nothing to worry about. Republicans are allowed to be tried in the press. It's expected. I would be shocked if this "admonishment" had any teeth whatsoever.
They are now trying to throw the case into mistrial, lest they have to testify themselves.
I ain't no lawyer, but Libby looks to have a good civil suit.
Still Miss Melanie has probably guranteed that her client, Joe Wilson, will end up testifying in open court.
Lawyers should be barred from publicly discussing pending cases in which they're involved. It's unethical and reflects poorly on the profession. What the public doesn't realize is that a lawyer can be disbarred from publicly harming their client with public remarks, as it violates the cannon of zealous advocacy. They must also be careful not to reveal any client confidences. So what's a lawyer to say? My client's a bum and needs to be hanged? Nothing a lawyer says in public can be believed, any more than what the defendant's mother says. Why does the media always run to these people for interviews????
Hooray for the Judge! Its just a start, but no trials should be tried by the media.
(putting beer on ice....popping popcorn....pulling up chair)
This is gonna be good.....come on over and join me for the show.....
Not to mention the fact that Chrissy's dear friend and mentor Fat Tim is going to be a witness as well. You would think that NBC/MSNBC would tell their stupid reports to SHUT UP and not discuss this case. Even moreso, since the genesis of the conversation between Libby and Fat Tim involved Chrissy's show.
Fitzgerald and Wilson are the ones who should be on trial, and Wilson's lawyer should be disbarred for her stupid statements about this case.
Our tax dollars at work......NOT!!!
Why do they allow themselves to be interviewed ?
Free advertising, and to try their case in the press! How else would you know who Flea Bailey and Gloria Allred are?
If Joe Wilson is deposed he has a hell of a problem. He can then either blow his own civil case out of the water and implicate many others in this witch hunt or he can lie under oath. It would be hilarious to see him on trial for perjury.
I hope Libby is able to sue the hell out of them.
The same bunch of hypocrites said it was no big deal when clinton lied!I say,so what!Libby was forced to lie because he was being framed therefore it is perfectly okay to lie!
