Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) continues to hold a narrow lead over Senator Hillary Clinton (D) and former Vice President Al Gore (D) in early Election 2008 polling.
Giuliani leads Clinton 47% to 43% in the latest poll. That’s very similar to the 48% to 43% lead he enjoyed in late November. When matched against Gore, Giuliani now leads 46% to 43%. In November, he also enjoyed a three-point lead over the Democrats’ Election 2000 candidate.
Against either Democrat, Giuliani leads among men but trails among women. The two Democrats lead among voters under 30, but trail among other age groups.
Gore is now viewed favorably by 50% of Americans and unfavorably by 49%. That’s a bit better than in earlier surveys. For Clinton, the numbers are now 48% favorable and 50% unfavorable, a bit weaker than the last time we checked.
Neither Democrat comes close to Giuliani on the favorability scale. The man sometimes known as “America’s Mayor” is viewed favorably by seven out of ten Americans (71%).
Giuliani also does well in Republican primary polling. In fact, he is the top candidate in the early going. John McCain is second. McCain also leads Clinton and Gore in Election 2008 match-ups. In fact, Giuliani and McCain are ahead in every match-up no matter what Democrat we mention.
On the Democratic side, Clinton is the clear frontrunner. Gore has not made it clear whether he intends to run.
Check out the favorability ratings for all Republican candidates, Democratic candidates, Congressional Leaders and other Political leaders.
I was trying to make a joke but apparently you have no sense of humor. Merry Christmas to you!
LOL! Yep, here I am! Quack.
Hey, sodomite, I'm not homophobic, i'm homonauseated. Gays and the people that try their darndest to advance the gay agenda make me puke.
Hannukah is more my traditonal background this time of year... have yourself a good Christian Christmas if that is yours...
I am homophobic for what these freaks would do to my kids if given the chance...
Newt won't undermine the GOP nominee. Newt is making loud noises to frame the issues in the primary debates.
Since I despise the Treason Media with every fiber of my being Guiliani's unwillingness to take their lying nonsense is one of the most admirable things about him.
There is NO chance that the RAT nominee will be more conservative than the GOP. That is just silly when it is clear you are speaking of HIllary/Osamabama.
Now it is true that the Treason Media will help her PRETEND to be more conservative in hopes of confusing the rubes.
"whiner"? That is all we hear from you. After calling np a liar and being called on it you cannot do better than that?
PS she is far more knowledgeable about politics than you and probably almost everything else worth knowing.
Calling yourself a "Reagan Man" does not make you one. Take a lesson from the Great Man and start being civil. One of his most winning qualities was being such a nice person even his enemies had to like him. You are so nasty even your allies DON'T.
The problem is some people would make that suggestion SERIOUSLY.
no
If it boils down to McCain vs Hillary the only conservatives who won't vote for the former are those Irreconcilables who don't like anyone more than 2% of the voters will vote for.
>>>>>Take a lesson from the Great Man and start being civil.
Reagan didn't have to deal with the cretins around FR. I am civil to those who are civil to me. You're just another thin skinned whiner defending your comrades in the contingent of chronic complainers on FR.
I'll lecture you as long as necessary and that appears to be for a long time.
When I notice you lying about people of quality and sense like nopardons I will defend them. You are incapable of countering her ideas and proceed to slander her.
You are a fraud and Reagan would NOT approve of your tactics or falsehoods.
It takes more than twits like you to get under my skin. After a few sessions against the Schiavonauts, and the Defenders of the Slaverocracy my skin can withstand ANYTHING you can come up with. You flatter yourself excessively.
>> The problem is some people would make that suggestion SERIOUSLY.
And likewise, some might take the suggestion seriously. I'm curious about the prevailing sense of desperation that's evident in this thread; and, I'm not mentioning this as an affront to anyone. The concern goes three ways: those for a particular candidate, those against, and those who are simply disheartened by the choices.
This thread focuses on Rudy for whom I have a tremendous amount of respect. The candidate many of us long for, however, appears not to be within reach, and as Conservatives/Republicans, we're struggling with the impending cause of acceptance. I'm wondering if we've yet to exhaust our options, and is the apparent momentum expressed in this thread one we're all willing to get behind to ensure a victory for 2008.
"The candidate many of us long for, however, appears not to be within reach,..." I have no idea who this could be given the horizon.
"...is the apparent momentum expressed in this thread..." I don't really see any momentum here more curiousity and anger. Those who are curious are not ruling out Guiliani and some are strong supporters. Those who are angry HATE Guiliani and almost everyone else who has a slight chance. They labor under the misimpression that the entire nation is as conservative as Utah. Much of the anger comes from the frustration of knowing that about all they can do is sling mud and have no viable alternatives to offer.
>> , c'mon now, how about showing some intelligence, for a change? :-)
I was taking a break - no harm intended :)
Don't presume to lecture me about anything. You maybe arrogant enough, but you're not qualified. As long as you act up, I'll deal with you juveniles the only way I know how. In your face for as long as it takes. Under your skin, till you wanna cry mommy. LOL
>>>>When I notice you lying about people of quality and sense like nopardons I will defend them. You are incapable of countering her ideas and proceed to slander her.
What a pathetic joke. You're idea of quality and sense is right out of bizarro world. I've been debating that one for years, so far she hasn't laid a glove on me and never will. Btw, you don't even know what the word "slander" means. LOL Invest in a dictionary and get educated about the meaning of words. Even a 12 year old knows better.
Thanks for the good laugh anyway. Merry Christmas.
Do your worst blowhard. You couldn't touch me with ANY of the resources at your disposal.
You of the Black Knight school of fighting and so far you are down to one leg and half an arm. nopardons will take care of those whenever she wishes. You have lost the battle and war and don't even know it.
Every other poll, except Gallop, has Giuliani leading.
