"The Josephine County Sheriff's Office and state police did not order a search of the area with a heat-seeking helicopter that Saturday night or Sunday, even though the Oregon National Guard had one fueled and awaiting orders. Sara Rubrecht, emergency services manager for Josephine County, did not return calls Wednesday seeking comment." Well there ya go. Don't be tellin' those gubmint peeples how to do thar jobs. Ah, give her a break...she was a part time 911 operator after all.
And the only one to apply for the job.

I live in Josephine County, and believe me, it's one bunged-up, incompetent county.
Last year it was revealed that county managers, on their first year of employment, were all given NINE WEEKS paid vacation, with the right to sell half the weeks back to the county.
Meanwhile, the county is in such dire financial straits that the county library is only open for a few hours each day (which they do to blackmail us, in my opinion.)
I could go on and on, but I gotta get t'work!

The "My Turf" mentality of the local constabulary is a universal constant.
