He is a solid conservative who doesn't back down. The more people find out about him, the more they will like him. Here I am with him in 2000 (he is on the right).

Gilmore was less than impressive in his leadership of the GOP role. Wasn't very effective in debates with his counterpart. Disappointing really. Just IMHO.
