Having worked S&R and having not been paid for the days I missed from work while on different searches, and having not been paid for the hundreds of hours of personal training, and having not been paid for the training, food, or vet bills of my certified search dog, I think I am qualified to tell this fat bitch to STFU!!!!!!!!!
Why doesn't she get off her fat ass and help people? Don't write a check get up and do something. Money only does so much for others then it takes trained volunteers on the ground putting their butts on the line and they stay until they are done. As all can see all of her money surly has not purchased her a bit of common sense or intelligence!!!!!

I was at Mt. Hood Meadows during a blizzard and know that only a moron would climb Hood in those conditions.
And now good people from Hood River and around the country have to risk their lives to save these idiots?

Rosie O'Donnell: "I read in the papers that over $2.5 million the search has cost so far to find these
three men." Rosie O'Donnell: "What warrants 27 helicopters and 1,000 people looking? I just don't understand."
If three WO MEN were lost up there, you can bet that haystack would be screeching about not enough is being spent, and there should be 50 helicopters and 5,000 people looking.

Rosie is now officially the Counterpoint guy from Airplane!:

What I can't understand about Rosie is that she is not funny, pretty, informative or nice. How is it that she is successful? Could it be the Carnival Sideshow Geek factor, where people look because she is so repulsive?
To: BenLurkin
What a kind thing for you to say! I would have chosen coarser words to describe her/him. You're very sweet! :)

When three people are facing death, it's crass to complain about the cost of the search.

Rescue InsuranceThe granting of a permit could be based on the climber presenting proof of insurance. Is that so much to ask?

See #49. When dealing with a landmark like Mount Hood, most government agencies have no qualms about rescue operations like this because it's actually good business.

Okay, Rosie, so the next time a ship is sinking at sea, we won't bother to send out the Coast Guard, because people knew the risk of going out on the ocean.

She can't understand because she would be much easier found by an air search than most others.
If push came to shove, I'd want Rosie around in a survival situation. For one thing, if it became Donner time, she'd make quite a larder. And, before it got to that point, you could crawl up inside her like she was a tauntaun.

It is crass to climb a mountain during a blizzard for enjoyment and expect the American Tax Payer to rescue you from your mistake.

Rosie O'Donnell: "What warrants 27 helicopters and 1,000 people looking? I just don't understand."
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why liberals flush babies down the toilet. Human life is not important to them. Review the Wellstone memorial and the same attitude is still present in the Dem Party.
Perhaps if her two adopted children were missing on that mountain, she would be asking why such a paltry effort was being put forth to search for her children. After all, this is the same leftist moonbat who got into the whole anti-Second Amendment thing on her daytime show, but thought that her children's bodyguard was doing the right thing when he got a concealed carry permit to protect her children while they were at school.
Limousine liberals like O'Dumbbell believe in "Rights for me, but none for thee!"

I have been on Hood during a blizzard and it was not pretty. Lukly, I was able to duck into the ski lodge and drink.
However, if I had the dumb idea to climb the mountain during the blizzard I would not expect to for other people to risk their lives to save me.

why is it you expect the American Tax Payer to flip the bill for the climber's stupid mistake? Moreover, why should men and women risk their lives to save people who were apparently ill-prepared to climb Mt. Hood? Just Because they attempt to win a Darwin Award does not mean the the US tax payer should bail them out. Thank you,
What law is there that says that that the public should be forced to pay for someones stupidity ?
If I get the fool idea to try to crossover to England tomorrow in a 12 foot sailboat should the coastguard risk their lives to look for me ?and why should the taxpayer foot the bill?
As much as I despise those cows on the TV that 2.5 million dollars could have been used elsewhere.
People need to know that actions have consequences. If you play with fire you're going to get burned. If you choose to go up mount Hood or across the ocean in the face of severe weather, its Selfish to ask people to risk their lives to look for you,or take money out of the pockets of working Americans to pay for you're stupidity

I had always thought the Conservatives believed in Self Reliance and Being Responsible for one's self.
However, it appears the the Advocates of the Nanny State believe the Government should be there to pick you up when you fall down.
