Yes: right now, all day and likely tomorrow.

The airport restaurants are running out of food...

It will be a long night for families with little kids...stuck at the airport.

We got about 14 inches of snow over the weekend here in the So Cal mountains and today is the first time in five days we'll be above freezing for the high.

Brrr.

I managed to get to work today for a few hours but decided to go back home while I still could when a co-worker pointed out that my little Civic had a drift up to the bumper. I almost didn't make it through the side streets, got stuck at my driveway and had to shovel a path to the garage. The snow isn't even supposed to be as bad up here as it is in Denver.
I'm sure glad I have a job where I can work from home even if I live less than a mile from the office!

Its usually mild in Colorado during the winter. But not always.

like Mother Nature to remind you she can mess up your best-laid plans

Oh well, nothing wrong with spending Christmas weekend hunkered down & enjoying the snow. It will prob. be a late Christmas for most of us.

Remember, 2006 looks to be the sixth warmest year in the last six years.

Blizzard conditions here in Colorado Springs. Four-wheel drive vehicles are spinning their wheels on little hills. Dozens of cars stranded on Woodmen Road and Academy, but my 4WD Jeep made it without incident. It's wet snow coming up from the South, and the wind is fierce. I-25 is closed from Pueblo, just South of here, to the state border. Not a real good day to be out and about.

Apparently there are hundreds of thousands of families in Oregon and Washington who still do not have power from the storm from last week.

But the skiing should be good ?

Do people generally have enough heating for all of the house in So Cal ?

Glad that you made it home.

The streets may become impassible due not only to the sideways drifting snow...but also the future accidents.

Hopefully your power will stay on.

The fabled Albuquerque low. Looks like my Christmas break will be starting 2 days early this year. Darn.

Hubby just called & said they closed the post office. Glad I'm not needing to ship any gifts today.

Has this gotten any better ?

" Roads around New Mexico were still snowpacked and icy Wednesday. Numerous schools opened late or remained closed.

Up to a foot of snow fell at higher elevations of northwest and west-central New Mexico on Tuesday, and snow and sleet closed sections of I-40 across eastern New Mexico and in the Texas Panhandle.

Albuquerque International airport was closed for several hours Tuesday as snow covered runways. "

Dunno 'bout NM. All I do know is that it's blowing like a mother right now.

Looked at the weather map this morning and saw that big "L" over Albuquerque, and began seriously to dream of snow.... ;-)

Isn't it great? My kids are having the time of their life sledding today.

Of course, I'm not traveling so this weather is a dream come true for me! ;o)

Well dressed kids should be very happy.

Good for the parents to let the kids burn off some steam outside ?
