It was a day for bill signing as the president signed S. 843, the Combating Autism Act of 2006; S. 3678, the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act; and H.R. 6143, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006.

VP Cheney is to be a defense witness (for Lewis Libby) in the Valerie Plane case.

I had never even tasted an artichoke till a few years ago when my best friend got me to try steaming them. He likes them dipped in melted butter (which is put in a dipping bowl), so I made them that way. You sure have to work to get a little bit of vegetable with those! I have to wait till they are on sale due to their price. They're fun for a change of pace when they're in season.

Eleanor, you've eaten them the same way as I have, except for the dipping bowl (for the butter).

While my daughter was here last month, artichokes were $1.99 each but I bought one for everyone. Even the little guy (3 years old) likes artichokes. :)

I just found this post. Yes, hubby was one of the good guys. He was a handsome dude and I may be partial. We had a wonderful life together but God steps in when you lose your mate and eventually heals you so you can laugh again. I even have done things I could never have imagined, like dating!!

Guess what's on sale this week! Fresh asparagus! I'm having some for my Christmas dinner. Oh yeah! I like to drizzle a little fresh lemon juice over the finished product.

Coolness. It is truly a comfort food. One of my most favorite recipes.

I'm so glad I checked back tonight --- I worried about you tonight --- you were missing from the Dose and when you went to bed last night, your head was hurting.

Yes, it's on sale here too and I am buying asparagus tomorrow. I like lemon juice drizzled on it too. It's sort of crunchy and oh so GOOD when it's baked. Buy the skinniest ones you can find, so long as the tips are ample.
