"The settlement brings to end a long battle to keep our science classes free of political or religious agendas,"

All but one...

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

AND we can't have that now, can we?

I hate agreeing with the ACLU ever, but the sticker caper was a bonehead idea from the start.

All but one...

Roger that. The religion of naturalistic materialism is safe.

This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered."

How the hell is that an endorsement of Religion? Evolution is a theory, and there are other theories besides, Evolution and God. That above statement says nothing about religion or that life could change because an asteroid hits the earth, ask the dinos.

Shouldn't it be up to the teacher to point out when things they are learning are theory and not a proven fact?

But I do agree that the uninformed often don't catch on that it is a theory. Maybe it would solve a lot of problems if we started always calling it the "theory of evolution" just like one almost always hears the "theory of relativity" and not just relativity when referring to that theory.

IF I want to learn religion, I'll take a Theology class.

If I'm going to learn science and the THEORIES that go along with it, then I'm going to go to Science class.

I don't see how or why the two should intermingle....

We should be teaching these kids revolution instead of evolution.

I remember watching the old Spencer Tracy movie about the monkey trials. I remember how at the end, Spencer Tracy is making his last plea in the court room, and is saying something about how evolution is just another idea and science is about new ideas and being open to everything. Funny how, now, that it's the other way around. Now that evolution is the strong man at the school, evolution cannot tolerate any room for anyone else at all. Not even a little sticker in a book that says "It's just a theory, not a fact."

>> A federal judge ordered the stickers removed in 2005, saying they amount to an unconstitutional government endorsement of religion.

So the theory of evolution cannot be stated as something that is a theory, nor is it something that can be approached with an open mind...

... I think we finally found the missing link.

This is the age of the lie.

The lie is embraced, while the truth is repudiated.
