Would Einstein advocate teaching fables like Noah's Ark in public school rather than real science?

I've been on FR pretty long too, long enough to know that someone that wants to force their dogma on everyone is one that can't be trusted with intellectual discourse.

My rejoinder: "Of course this is a nonsensical statement standing on it's own. It's both a false statement and evidence of a Marxist point of view."

Your amended statement after the nonsense: "I made my position clear, no religion in public schools, unless you preach all religions. So, if we teach creationism, we must teach Odin and Norse mythology."

This statement is somewhat better but not accurate. Whether you want religion in school or not is really of no concequence. The US Constitution has no problem with religion in school. It does have a problem with government actors favoring one religion above all others according to the latest jurisprudence. The courts would certainly look askance at public schools whose teachers were evangelizing one religion but the same court would be out of line in prohibiting individual students from doing the same on their own time in that same public school.

Your first statement was marxist in nature, the second statement was simply hyperbole sprinkled with some truth.

Here you got a thread where posters who are known, among other things, for saying fire-breathing dragons are real, the U.S. moon landings were faked, lifesaving cancer surgery is immoral and (believe it or not) that heliocentrism is controversial trying to lecture scientifically knowledgeable people on the validity of a theory (evolution) that has been known to be true for over a century. Unbelievable. Put your Bibles down for a few minutes and get a real education, folks! Science has advanced a bit since the Bronze Age!

No wonder more and more educated conservatives want nothing to do with the ignorantly fanatical crankhole the once-great science threads on this site have become.

What is the fundamental problem?

There are two sets of citizens and the government school can NOT be neutral between the two of them. There is NO action that the government can take on this issue without the government establishing the religious worldview of one, and trashing that of the other.

And,,,this sticker in a textbook is only one of HUNDREDS of curriculum and policy decisions that government schools must make that establish the religious, cultural, and political worldview of some while destroying that of others.

Time and resources are finite, and there are competing ideas that exclude each and can not be compromised, therefore, ....the education of children was never, is not now, and never can be religiously, politically, or culturally neutral.

Solution: Begin the process of privatizing universal K-12 education. End the religious, cultural, and political wars that rage in the government schools.
