DAMASCUS, Syria --U.S. Sens. John Kerry and Christopher Dodd arrived in Syria on Tuesday to discuss how Damascus could help bring about stability and security to neighboring Iraq. The two Democratic lawmakers declined to speak to reporters after landing at Damascus airport on a U.S. military plane.

Putin: Tell them to wear a dress when they meet with you... then tell Kerry you want sex with his wife.
Assad: I would enjoy that... isn't she into the dominatrix thing?
There will be a lot of knobs during Kerry's visit, alright. And I'm not talkin' about doorknobs, either.
Unsung I'll buy. American hero I won't.
A demographer once said that American Jews earn like Episocpalians but vote like Puerto Ricans. Hard to fathom. You'd think they'd see that the party of Kerry and Dodd is a greater danger to peace and tolerance than a guy in Hollywood.
Yours is better!
That Gonzalez Justice Department sure is something...
I wish Dubya would get out in the rose garden and flat out tell these guys to take care of buisness in the congress and leave the foreign policy to the executive branch.
Then after being semi-polite...tell them to bugger off!
Good point! Why ARE they being allowed to use military aircraft on a trip of this nature?
United States Code
TITLE 18 - CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
PART I - CRIMES
CHAPTER 45 - FOREIGN RELATIONS
Section 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
Not if they watch CNN, Fox News, or any other news of any sort.
Oh, did Kerry spend some time in Vietnam?
Is that like 'Cash'n Carry'?
Me to Assad: can you please keep these two doofuses over there?
We wouldn't want to ask Congress to do something like balance their budget, fix Social Security, or fix the border. That's not THEIR job. Sheesh. Congress has wars to run. Judges to nominate. People to oversee.
Who do we think they ARE. The Legislative branch or something?
Did he? Oh man, he must be some war hero or something.

No, but our enemies will love the propaganda mileage they'll get from reporting this on Al Jazeera. Kerry and Dodd should be arrested, charged, tried, convicted, and shot as traitors to the U.S.
Kerry had zero political capital prior to this, so he thinks by talking with terrorist-sponsoring regimes it will enhance his profile.
It's not only seditious, it's stupid.
The only way the effing Syrians do our bidding is if we pay them a mountainside of money to do so. I don't think it's likely that will happen.
In the meantime, Messrs. Kerry and Dodd are messing with the foreign policy of the US without specific instruction from the secretary of state or the president.
If this was 1599 and Kerry pulled a stunt like this on Queen Elizabeth I, she'd throw him in The Tower!
