Shoichi Nakagawa, a senior Liberal Democratic Party politician has called the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan in 1945 a crime and inexcusable.
Nakagawa, policy chief of the ruling LDP, made the comments after visiting the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, a ruling party official said.

So, we should withdraw our nuclear guarantee of Japan's integrity, and tell North Korea if they nuke Tokyo we will not retaliate? We sure wouldn't want to commit any "crimes" would we?
Japam has litle room to throw stones after their treatment of China, Korea Pearl Harbor and prisoners during and prior to WWII.
Dropping two atomic bombs saved millions of lives had an invasion been necessary. But this Nakagawa probably doesn't know or understand this as japan refuses to teach its people of its crimes. Crimes against humanity.
And what about the crimes committed on the Chinese people? Very selective outrage. Victimology, Japanese style???
War is hell, but when started you need to go all out to terminate it as quickly as possible. Obviously Truman's motivations were to minimize American causalities (as well they should have been), but Japan also benefited in receiving these ugly and shocking blows to expedite cessation of hostilities.
Nakagawa ought to keep his mouth shut, or we'll come and do it again!
At the same time we Bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki The Japanese had a plague bomb prepared to attack the West Coast. If the bomb had been delivered it would have killed millions. The only reason it didn't reach the US is because the submarine it was to be carried on was recalled after the first bomb.
And I wonder what this esteemed 'gentleman Jap' thinks of the Rape of Nanking?

We could've done much worse, Shoichi, ol' buddy, ol' pal.
Imagine the death and destruction that would've ensued from an invasion.
Harry Truman did the right thing -- whether you can understand it or not. And had the choice been mine, I pray that I would've had the courage to do as he did.
The sneak attack on the US fleet at Pearl Harbor started it all and it too was an inexcusable crime. What the Japs did to American Flyboys and to our soldiers with human experiments were also inexcusable crimes. Consider that you got paid back for the war you started....and move on.
Next comes the request for "reparations" unless I miss my guess.
Nakagawa better look at the 'inexcusable crimes' of Japan before he starts calling the kettle black.
Sorry about the double post
Millions? I doubt one bomb would have been that bad, but I know that no Japanese would be alive today if they had done it.
Keep in mind the Japanese do not learn about their crimes in their history classes.
I'm sure Shoichi Nakagawa would be the first one to say if the tables were reversed and Japan had the A-bomb first,OF COURSE they would NEVER have used them against us !!!
Pot calling the kettle black.
Occupation of Manchuria, Pearl Harbor, Bataan, etc., etc.
