Is Warren so full of himself that he's trying to influence who will be the two candidates for president?

That way he will have access to either man when they win and he will be the most famous "God Man" in the world. This is what he wants, he's an arrogant narcissist with a superiority complex.

You almost have it.

Mad Howie and Jim Wallis have done exactly what they said they would do, recruit Evangelicals, in ths case, Warren. I suspect ther agreement looks something like this:

Warren:
Will not endorse a Demo candidate directly.

Will not endorse abortion.

But........

Will spend considerable time as asked with the Demo candidates, as a spiritual advisor and confidant. Or at least appear to be in that role.

Will speak favorably of Demo candidates when asked, and will do so for Repubs when asked.

Will cooperate with dog and pony shows in which the Demoo frontrunner (now Obama) appears with Repubs who do not have a chance in H!ll (Brownback).

In return, Ricky Warren will be actively promoted as the President's pastor. In otherwords, the new Billy Graham.

His aim is to move Evangelicals to the left side of the political equation, or at least enough to remove the advantage the Repubs have in this area.

I think Ricky has sold out to a very high bidder.
