For decades Katie was branded and sold as the perky morning person on the Today show. How in the world the suits at CBS thought they were going to transform her into a serious anchor is mind boggling.
Sorry, but every time I see a promo for her the first thing that pops in my head if "lightweight". I'm sure it's that way for most people. You just can't take her seriously. Add to that the fact that the first story they giver out of the box was Tom Cruise's baby, something better suited for the National Enquirer and it was recipe for disaster that was easily predicable.
