News hound Helen Thomas: a profile (Barf alert)
The Grand Rapids Press ^ | December 17, 2006 | Beth Loechler

Posted on 12/17/2006 6:24:32 PM PST by ConservativeStatement

For the record, Helen Thomas, who at age 86 has been covering news at the White House for about half a century, no longer heads straight to the office at 5:30 a.m. each weekday.

Instead, she goes to Starbucks, where she orders her coffee -- black -- and settles in for some quality reading time with the New York Times and Washington Post.

Then, she heads to the White House press room.

From the article:

That's when she skewered George W. Bush.

"I'd be remiss if I didn't say we're hurting our great humanitarian mission in the world by invading a country that did nothing to us. What more unpatriotic thing could we have asked of our sons and daughters?" she asked from the podium.

"Let's give peace a chance and let it begin with us."

The black-tie crowd stood and applauded enthusiastically as she left the stage, although her concluding comments most assuredly angered or offended some attendees.

Granted, any article about Helen should have a barf alert, but any article that refers to the NYT and WAPO as quality reading deserves one, too..

News hound.

Well, the description is half right ...

"News gargoyle" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I doubt the Old Bag has ever once read Human Events or the Washington Times.

"Let's give peace a chance and let it begin with us."

Guess the Old Bag slept in on September 11th 2001!

"The black-tie crowd stood and applauded enthusiastically as she left the stage, although her concluding comments most assuredly angered or offended some attendees."

The 'black-tie crowd' has no worries. Helen's prodigy, clone, body/mind double, David Gregory is already waiting in the wings to be HEAD HAG of the MSM White House Press Room.

OH, that just sounds so noble. I'm sure, Helen Troll, that we'd just love to give peace a chance, if our enemies would do likewise. Giving peace a chance is a 2-way street dumb-bell.

I forget what member of congress made this quip
this past summer, but it was a great one.

He hoped that all the virgins that the jihadist
