I hope that when this case is finally laughed out of court, the lawyers for the defendants will sue Nifong into oblivion.
Exactly the NC AG could end this tommorrow. While he cannot overrule Nifong, he could convene a grand jury and have Nifong indicted for obstruction of justice tommorrow.
Nifong probably doesn't have enough in the way of assets to make it profitable. The city or county of Durham, whoever elected him, needs to pay for this.
