I don't disagree with you about women, especially teens and tweens, needing to dress more appropriately. But you've taught your daughter that dressing properly will prevent her from being raped and that is not true. If someone wants to rape her they will no matter how she's dressed. So what you've done is set her up to blame herself rather than the perp. If it ever happens she will always question whether or not her skirt was an inch too short.

If she marries and her husband beats her because he dislikes her cooking, is the beating her fault because she's not a good enough cook?

[...If someone wants to rape her they will no matter how she's dressed...]

I completely agree with you and that's why we also talk
about staying away from bars and parties where she could
get into trouble. We have a very serious problem in the
United States with date rape and drug rape that has
absolutely nothing to do with how a girl is dressed.

But... I have not set my daughter up to blame herself.
I know better and she knows better. Rather, I have set
her up to be wise.

You sound wise as well. Please stay safe. Always be
aware of your surroundings and don't take chances.
