Eliot Janeway stated long ago that we should insist on purchasing natural resources from foreign suppliers with our own commodities whenever possible. It would certainly be wonderful, if possible, to tell the Saudis etc. to drink their oil while we enjoyed our milk shakes.
If this country is forced to wage war with nations of limited food and water resources, I hope that serious consideration will be given to targeting those commodities.
