Add a something about his "ears" comments and you've got a winner, imo.

There are moles in our institutions, planted there by Carter, added to by Clinton.

They jeopardise our national security for their own reasons.....none of which are patriotism.

That combination would drive PMSNBC's ratings lower...faster...than Olbie is doing on his own.

I read your post about banishing your children from your life should they enlist in the military. Now you seem to be harboring some doubt about the effectiveness of that mandate, i.e. (not yet anyway). Bad psychology and foolish for a parent to use such threats on kids. Often has the opposite effect of what is intended. Are you also expecting to control other choices in their lives? President Bush walks a MSM minefield every day with a hostile press totally in league with the RAT party, seizing every opportunity to blow him up. A President cannot be as free wheeling as a governor in a state as independent minded as Texas is allowed. Maybe you will enlighten us as to the real source of your sourness towards Pres Bush.

I'm sure the WOT will continue; I was referring to the ooportunity to win the war and have it over with.

It's apparent to me that the US cannot expect to be involved in any kind of military conflict that last any length of time - 2 years, 3 years maximum?

As a result, a military victory followed by an occupation, like Iraq turned out, is not going to work. Future strategy needs to include a quick exit.

Wow! Thank you for that. I needed an education.

Speaking of words that have morphed over the past couple of decades, I have seen "criticism" and judgmental as the nmost flagrant ones............... generally used by the left.

"Criticism" used to be a university and prep school course, one I took back in the mid-'60's. It involved study and analysis of literature. There was nothing inherent or intrinsic in the word then, as today, of negativity.

Also, being judgmental was not necessarily a negative attribute back in the older days. Now, a person who is referred to as "judgmental" is an ogre and evil.

Oh well................ evolution in the language................. (I'm not crazy about it).

;-)

Rumsfeld proposed a quick take down of Saddam Hussein and a quick exit. Powell proposed a long stay, because Powell's doctrine of you break it....blah blah blah.

President Bush accepted Powell's proposal.....the rest is obvious.

If I am not mistaken General Shinseki was on Powell's side.

Yes, TXsleuth, it was a sad post; however, what is truly sad is just how frequently one hears this sort of tripe from the self-absorbed segment of society that demands perfection in all things whether from a left or right perspective. In US history, the recurring theme is one of forming a large enough power base to eventually do the hard, dangerous work that needs to be done. One can cite the Revolution, the Civil War, WWII etc.; and the WOT will be no exception.

Currently, and I know that others here see this as well, many Americans have not been given enough inducement to abandon immediate self-interest and recognize the need for self-sacrifice in order to further everyones' best, longterm interests. We are running out of time while our enemies continue to perceive US weakness in a manner that could certainly lead to war on a scale that might have been avoided. There is nothing new in this.

One way or another this country will sooner or later realize that we are in a death struggle with an enemy dedicated to our destruction. There is only one question: Will this realization come to the nation, as a whole, in time to avert more destruction in the homeland?

I tried to watch FNS and for the third or fourth time on my Direct TV channel 13 in Tampa the sound and the Picture were not in sync. It was making me feel retarded. I finally looked at the Group segment and it was very hard to watch, and made me want to punch Wine Williams when he sarcastically and smugly said the Democrats are treating this as Bush's War. Then kristol said Obama will not win one Primary against Hillary, this on top of him saying that The status quo should take place if Tim Johnson is impaired and cannot do his job, he should just stay indefinitely and do nothing. This is 2006, what an idiot he is. Kristol never fails to disappoint. I will have to check into the repeat at 6Pm so I can understand what they Hell they actually said. I guess I will have to call Direct TV and complain, it was really distracting especially Mara and Brit. wallace always looks and sounds off, so he almost looked normal. LOL!
