If they don't do it, they're no RATS! They never learn about what p***off the American people. They will have no time to push their agenda and with some Repub. spine exposing them in the coming hearings, the RATS will end up thrown out of power in '08.
The RATS can't force a withdrawal from Iraq unless they de-fund the war. If they try to do so, I don't believe that the American people will accept a repetition of the "forced defeat" in Viet Nam.

Attempting to de-fund the war may be the push that Bush needs to bomb Iran. He has 60 days to use the military without congressional authorization. That alone, to a large extent, will FINISH the war in Iraq by demolishing Sadr's Mahdi army, will fold Syria a la Qadhaffi thus benefiting Lebanon's democracy through orphaning Hizbollah and dealing a huge blow to Hamas.
One of the most important "intangibles": a shot across the bow of China and Russia informing them who the boss is. It's a warning about any bad ideas concerning North Korea, Taiwan and Middle Eastern meddling even if we have to take action without any support from our dear West European allies!
