Judging by the speech difficulty Mr. Johnson experienced before he was stricken, the malformation probably was on the left side of his brain, which controls speech... added.

Actually, Harry and co. don't care if he can vote so long as he counts toward their 51 majority in the Sente ... for that he could be on total life support and still be a rat majority member. But don't expect Tim to allow that. He is a man of integrity and will likely ask the SD Governor to appoint someone to replace him if he recovers enough to realize that he cannot do the job elected to do. Tim Johnson is not the typical democrat in leadership today, he has character and loves his country more than democrap party power. I pray for his complete recovery.
The coverage of this and the phoney caring on the part of the Dems is disgusting. It is actually embarrasing to watch it.

I take the Democrat's expressions of concern at face value. I take those expressions of concern and compassion voiced by Freepers at face value too. Why not?
That is what seprates us from liberals and Democrats, they are only worried about the lost of political power and the night this happened I had MSNBC on and Bill Press was nearly beside himself about the fact Democrats could lose the Senate.
I have to hand it to you to be able to stand Bill Press. From what I hear this senator is a nice guy for a Democrat. That Behar goof on "The View" was trying to get it started that Republicans must have done this to him. Leave it to Dems to think that people just don't get sick. Always a conspiracy if the situation is bad for them. They ought to worry though, they have got some oldies, like Old Coot Byrd who is a dinosaur. They will probably resort to roll him in on a stretcher to prove he is still kicking.

I feel ashamed but I just can't help but think about "Weekend at Bernies".
That was my first thought when I saw the shameless way Harry Reid was, in effect, saying, "Nothing to see here...move along...."
I can see him sitting there next session, propped up between Kennedy and Clinton, each of them moving one of his arms...

A doctor once told me that many people have aneurysms and never know it, because most of the time they aren't a problem because they don't rupture. The only way most people find out they have one is if one happens to rupture. He said that if everyone who had one found out there would be a run on the doctor's offices by around a third of the population.
It's one of those things that doctors do encounter and will try to repair if they find it. It is usually there from birth and one is a walking time bomb; unless it is found and repaired.
Beyond the sympathy for him as a human being, I think there's a recognition by freepers that he's a decent guy, as Dems go. Didn't I read he's an eagle scout, and has a son who has served or is serving in Iraq?
My father-in-law died of this same ailment. He was 85 and fell and hit his head and suffered from bleeding on the brain. We don't know which came first, if something inside his head caused him to fall and hit his head and cause the bleeding, or if the fall caused the bleeding. But he had fainted a few times before that. Since he was 85 the doctors advised us that he would not want to go through the years of rehab. After a health problem like this you have to learn how to walk and talk again, and everything else. They said he would not want to go through that at his age. They said if you were 20, 30 or 40 they would advise you to try everything to revive them and they would be young and strong enough to go thru the rehab. But at age 85 no one would want to go through 10 years of rehab. So at 59 I don't know what it would be like for the senator. We had a friend with similar head trauma and she was only 23 but it took her a year or two to recover completely.
My friend's mother had one at age 60. She was leaning over the kitchen sink, collapsed and died. She was the picture of health, a dance teacher.
