Phil Angelides, the Democrat who lost to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in last month's election, announced Friday that he plans to launch an investment firm, advocate for education causes and lay the groundwork for a possible gubernatorial run in 2010.
``I'll be active in my business and very active in the public arena -- advocating for the issues I believe in, the issues of economic opportunity -- and I will be doing my level best to advance those issues,'' the two-term state treasurer said.
``Some people, after they lose an election, they kind of just shrink away,'' Angelides said. ``That's not going to happen with me.''

Quite right. Ipso, he plans to become a Cling-on.
In California, liberals are so confused that some actually think they're conservatives!
I guess we'll "still have Phil Angelides to kick around some more."
And he'll lose again. He needs to give up politics and slither away gracefully.
I guess the Republican candidate will be Steve Poizner, unless a conservative Republican congressman enters the primary.

Hopefully his ears will reduce in size a bit though.
Outspending his opponent, the unlikeable racial separatist Cruz Bustamante, by about 7 times bought Poizner the Insurance Commissioner job. The GOP better come up with something else for 2010
Based on his liberal views and his history, Poizner might make a decent Democratic candidate, however.
