Maybe these Chaldeans and other persecuted Cristians in Iraq should be offered political asylum...
To: DogByte6RER
I would do either that, or at least move them to the authonomous Kurdistan. That's only a few Kilometers away from Mosul, and safe for Chritians.

I think that offering asylum to Iraqi Christians would be better for the US than accepting any more Somali Muslims.
Plus we could hire some of them as Arabic translators, and have some confidence that they would feel no loyalty to any Muslim Ummah

Our State Department is "concerned" about giving the impression we favor truly persecuted Christians over Muslims.
Can we eliminate the State Department please?

Thanks for the post. Looks like things could get real interesting around here, over the holidays. Guess I shouldn't be going around wishing any of the locals "Merry Christmas!", huh?

Orders reach the point of absurdity: restaurants cannot prepare mixed salads with cucumbers and tomatoes because one represents the female and other the male genderHow in gods name are you supposed to reason with people who segregate vegetables by sex, or their warped interpretation of it.
Absolutely nuts.

...soap is forbidden, because it did not exist in Muhammads time. It's easy to laugh at such idiocies, but any religion or government which exalts the past and condemns the future inevitably heads down such a path. This would be a New York Times definition of "conservatism", but it's one real American conservatives need to guard against indulging in - even if they would prefer 50's nostalgia to soap avoidance. ;)

If soap is anti-islamic, how badly do those mosques smell anyway, with all those people bent over without shoes on? I mean I always knew such practices must lead to a fetid atmosphere, but come-on.

soap is forbidden, because it did not exist in Muhammads time. Must mean that Old Muh didn't know about soap, which I don't doubt. His camel probably liked it that way. However soap existed well before Old Muh's mother punished the world with his birth.
This article indicates that a form of soap was known right there in ancient Babylon, as early as 2800 BC. Old Muh didn't see the light of day until 571, or 570 depending on which account one goes by.
