I had a few thoughts on reading that article, prairie.
#1. I'd like to know who the Republican is who said that marriages suffer when Congress has to work a five day work week. It sounds made up to me, and knowing the media, it probably is a phony statement.
If a Republican truly did say that, I'd like to know who it is because he deserves to have his hiney kicked from one end of the room to the other.
#2. While I agree wholeheartedly with Mo1 that the country is better off when Congress isn't meeting (this is why I rather like gridlock), I think it's absolutely shameful that legislators are paid as much as they are for working so few hours. However, it is worrisome what kind of mischief the Democrats will get into working longer hours :-)
